question about whistleing from cai
i put on my aem cai. i made sure that everything was tight, but there is a whistleing when i hit the gas a certain amount. i've heard that it could be from the air just going in faster. the metaphore they used was it's like a flute. but anyways, is this normal, or does it have leaks? it sounds like i have a turbo.
does anyone know why this happens?

i also have that whistling noise, i hear it on a lot of cars on the street with intakes, and i always guess that they have cold air, but i think once or twice it happened to be a short ram, i have no idea what it is either, but seems to work fine right?

What you describe may just be the sound of the exhaust through the intake. I have a cai and on the top end towards 7000rpm you hear a whistling and it is just the overlapping of the exhaust and intake valves. also the cai resonates too so might just be how its shaped (frequency levels created under certain rpm)
my there is nothing to worry about

I have an AEM cold air on my 95 GS-R and I hear the whistling also. It was really bad until I realized that the torque from the engine ripped the little mounting bracket off and there was a hole......after replacing it I still have the sound and have heard it on other people cars also. So its just something normal to my knowledge.
