Angry corner light prob

Hey people,
I was wondering if any1 could help me out? My front passenger corner light, the bulb that is a marker bulb and also a turn sig indicator is dead. I hooked it up to the multi meter and got like 3-4 volts off of it. i was wondering if any1 has the same prob and what could i possibly do to it to fix it. when i follow the wire for that bulb it runs right into the firewall with a bunch of wires that look identical to it . Reason its bothering me soo much cause i wanted to hook my front bumper lights to it, so they are on all the time .
And last prob, when i open my doors to my car, my dome light doesnt go on, and that prevents my alarm from going off cause i guess the change in voltage triggers a sensor. so im not quite sure what to do so if any1 could help id appreciate it thanks
Dustin

Re: corner light prob

Have you tried replacing the bulb?

Replace the driver side door switch for the other problem

Re: corner light prob

check connection at terminals. shouldnt it be like 12Volts? if the voltage is that low...there MAY be a short circuit. i had some kind of problem similar to that with my old car...something like a short circuit...changed the terminals that holds the bulb then it was fine. as for the other problem...do what jackasssi said...it may be the switch. electrical problems with cars are usually at the end points or terminals coz the middle parts are usually well protected.
