transmission leaking?

I have a 96 chevy blazer 4WD, I noticed on my garage floor while backing out that there was some tranny fluid? Has anyone had to replace a seal? Is this something easy to do or should I leave this up to the dealer or a local shop? I show the level good but I am concerned about burning it up. Please help.
Tanks

Most common is the transfer case rear output seal for the rear driveshaft, next would probably be the transmission pan gasket, both relatively cheaper fixes, then the front seal in the transmission and that would be spendy as the transmission needs to come out for that, I have also seen the transmission vent leak (usually expensive) and the transfer case vent leak due to a defective transfer case 4wd vacuum switch (pretty cheap). Good luck.

I have an 83 Blazer 4wd and had the same problem. I replaced the tranny pan gasket and it worked for a while. (I aquired a leak at the front seal) With something like a gasket you can certainly do it yourself, but for something like replacing the front seal I would reccomend some professional help unless you really know what you're doing. If you can wipe down the transmission and pin-point where you're leaking from you'll be a lot better off. Good luck!
