Re: Re: b20 head on b18a?

Actually, I would probably not go with the B20 head, unless you were putting in more aggressive cams. The B20's came auto only, as far as I know, and the auto trans cams are way less aggressive. I also don't see why anyone would say that the B20 has bigger ports, since the B-series engines all take the same headers and intake manny's. That says to me same size ports. However, you'd have to measure to be sure. I would say to save up a little more cash and get a B16 head, check out www.thepartstrader.com, or the classifieds thread...

Not all CRV's were automatics. Even if you picked up a auto B20 motor, just swap in B18 manual cams, if it bothers you that much.

Also, yes, the B20 ports are bigger than a B18's head. Again, the B20 intake manifolds are not the same as a B18. They have the same bolt patterns as all B series (minus B18C).

One last thing, yes, it can be done just fine.

the casting of the B20 Head is IDENTICAL to the b18 head.

so no gains from that... the b20 cams are different though so you may gain from that.
