My McLaren F1 Collection - 1/18th scale of course...
Click the pic for a larger image Foreground, from left to right: McLaren F1 road car (silver) McLaren F1 LM (single wing) McLaren F1 road car (green) <-- simply beautiful btw Top row, from left to right: '96 F1 GTR #11R - Frank Muller Watches #53 '96 F1 GTR #15R - Gulf Racing #34 '97 F1 GT - long tail road car (box labeled GTR road car) * '97 F1 GTR #21R - FINA BMW Motorsport #8 '95 F1 GTR #06R - Harrod's Mach One Racing #51 '95 F1 GTR #01R - Ueno Clinic #59 ('95 LeMans winner) * I plan to find a damaged F1 road car and replace the interior in this one so it doesn't look like a GTR inside. I have also removed the rear wing as the actual F1 GT long tail road car didn't have the wing of the long tail GTRs. The wheels are wrong too, but there not much I can do to fix that. = = = = = I have a long tail Gulf GTR #41 on its way to be added to the collection. After that, I'm not sure which one I want next. There are the two other '97 long tail GTR liveries (EMKA & Loctite) which raced at LeMans in 1998. Also, there are the '96 FINA GTRs with the flag logos that were only offered through BMW dealerships, but those get rather pricey. In addition to the ones in the photo, I have a 1/12th scale Paul's Model Art F1 road car which is one of the few cars I keep in the box. Once I get a glass case for it, I'll keep it out. I also have the Maisto F1 road car in 1/18th scale in both blue and green. The details on those aren't nearly as good, and there are a few things that are wrong when compared to the production road car. Lastly, I have the F1 road car in 1/43rd scale in both silver and green. Can you tell I like the McLaren F1?? Fortunately though, my diecast collection is rather diversified with about 100 other 1/18th scales of various makes sitting on those shelves. Enjoy the pic - I'll try to take more shots of these in the future if there is enough interest. >8^) ER P.S.: Mr Selldorff's collection is still a lot more impressive though.

man im looking around for a 1/18 model, now i know why i cant find any
(i might get one from ebay some day)little note, why does that LM XP1 have a small vent on the side just above the XP decal? i dont recall seeing that on any pic. shame only a couple of the models have the front signals the right way around kinda ruins it. My collection is a bit weiny, but i have a 1/12 remote control McLaren GTR Hitotsuyama in Zero livery. and i also have 2 silver 1/24 diecast models, one is very bad condition but the other is near enough mint.. except the back left wheel broke off at some point and has been stuck back on so doesnt spin both where given second hand to me without boxes.

Re: My McLaren F1 Collection - 1/18th scale of course...
all 1/18 - 1 97 gtr, 1 maisto road car, 1 95 gtr (ueno clinic) and some gtr that came damaged so i repainted it burgundy (it looks like crap). i plan on re-doing that in silver without the wierd looking bumps in the headlights.

Re: My McLaren F1 Collection - 1/18th scale of course...
1:18 Guiloy Prototype LM (good quality but everything is so messed up, it looks just like a road car with the HD kit), 1:12 P.M.A road car in dark green, 1:43 GTR (016R), 1:18 Maisto road car in dark blue, I'm trying to get my hands on a 1:18 UT LM (first series w/ blue box) and the competition on eBay for one seems fierce. My only other option would be the classifieds on scale18.com, and if worse comes to worse, I know where I can get one for $125 but in my opinion thats a bit much, I'll just see what happens.
BTW - nice collection peloton, i'll bet it was difficult getting a hold of all those

For starters, thanks for the comments everyone. I'll try to get more detailed photos of all of them, plus a few more shots of my entire diecast collection up soon.

I actually haven't spent a lot on any one of mine so far. The highest price I have paid was $106 for the long tailed Gulf GTR that is on it's way. The rest I have paid less than $80 a piece for, and many were significantly less than that. Also, several of them I have had since they were originally offered so I didn't even pay a premium on those. I picked up the Green 1/18th F1 road car recently for $65 which is a fairly good price in my opinion. I still want the dark grey 1/18th F1 road car but the one on Ebay at the moment is already over $100. ![]() Quote:
= = = = = On a side note, last night an auction on Ebay for a damaged silver UT road car ended with me as the high bidder at $36.09. I got pretty lucky because this seller was very honest about the damage and even had "Damaged" in the subject line so that probably turned several people away. He also wasn't accepting PayPal or any forms of payment besides a money order or cashiers check. Even though I can't stand to pay that way, this time will be worth it. The only thing wrong with it is one of the door hinges is apparently broken and one of the mirrors has fallen off. Both can probably be fixed easily with some crazy glue, however that isn't my plan for this car. I bought it specifically for the interior piece which, as I mentioned earlier, I plan to swap into my F1 GT to bring it a little closer to being accurate. I also have an extra 1/18th UT Franck Muller Watches GTR that I'm going to use to build a relica of GTR #10R. I've already figured out that to do it right, I will also need an extra Harrods car, so I'll be looking for one of those soon and hopefully I can find another damaged one and get it cheaper since I plan to part it out. >8^) ER |

All of the diecasts in that photo are built by UT. The quality is quite good on all of them for an 1/18th scale diecast. Unfortunately, the only place to find these now is on Ebay as they are out of production and most stores sold their stock a long time ago.
I guarantee anyone who buys one of these and doesn't spend too much money will not be disappointed. >8^) ER |

No it didn't come with any extra decals. A poster named "WaldoPepper" posted a link to a place that makes decal sheets. Try to find the thread he started on GTRs - I believe it's in there and it might be able to help you out.

![]() I wish I could afford all the Minichamps 1/43rd GTRs - that collection would be even more impressive. My long tail Gulf GTR #41 arrived last week, so I have slotted it in where the F1 GT was and I moved that to a seperate shelf. The long tailed Gulf livery is one of my favorites on the F1. I shouldn't have waited so long to get one, but I was holding out for a #41 so it took a bit longer to find one of them. My damaged F1 road car should be in transit now, and before I swap in the road car interior from that car into my F1 GT, I'll be sure to take more photos of all of them to share. So many toys, so little time. ![]() >8^) ER |

Re: My McLaren F1 Collection - 1/18th scale of course...
Hello,
The yellow 1/12th scale McLaren road version was sold ![]() The salesman has one 1/12th dark grey at home with some defaults on opens of a door and rear engine that he can sell me for 200 or 250€, what do you think about it ? I would like to have your advice on it. Only one McLaren F1 was in shop and I bought it for 50€. It is GTR #24 4th at 95' Le Mans (which is his VIN ? please). Unfortunately it has some defaults like a mirror broken. Good bye Philippe |
