engine swap help...

I want to swap my 95 Pathfinders 3.0L V-6 out for a more economical and powerful motor....I found the TH350 transfer case adapter for it but I have no idea what chevy engine would mount up.....I am guessing a 4.3L(which if you ask me that ain't a bad engine at all) but would that work out real well with the Turbo350 tranny? questions questions questions....if anyone can help me I would be grateful.....I have looked eveywhere for the info or even compatability listings and can't find squat!

A 4.3 would hardly be more economical than the 3.0, but it would give you more power for sure.

I'm surprised you didn't find more info, it's easily found. Go to www.4x4parts.com and look up the Engine Swap section. They sell V8 and V6 motor mounts and a transmission adapter for swapping in either kind of engine into a Nissan Pathfinder or HB. To date, I only know of three people in the US that have done it, though.

Chevy makes the 4.3L V6, 305 V8, 350 V8, and the TH350, TH400, TH700-R4 transmissions that will work with the Advance Adapter transfer case adapter.

How hard did you look, anyway? I found all this out a long time ago. Like, three or four years ago.

sweet a$$

I searched for days tryin to find that info....and eventually found some of it....and to the 4.3 being "hardly more economical"....my PF gets 15 mpg MAX in the city and I am guessing about 16 maybe 17 on the highway....anything is better than that....and 4.3s get like 19 city/25 freeway...and with my current milage that sounds wonderful....but thank you for your help and good luck rallyin your PF!! We just got a foot and a half of snow so I am gonna go see what ye old stock PF can do in the winter on some hills...and of course some holes too!!
