I have an 85SE L4 2m4 and i was looking at v8 archies for v8 kits which I would love to get, but I am wayy short on the cash......so I am wondering, should I pull a v6 out of another fiero?? or maybe keep my L4 and soup that up?.....or maybe another alternative if there is one??......
also regarding which engine might be best, should I turbo or super or any other mods that woudlnt be to exspensive.... thanks |

Re: v6 or l4???
I wouldn't bother with the 4.. granted you could make it fast but it'd cost a bunch of money. The problem with the stock 2.8/3.4 V6 is the upper plenum restricts air flow bad and seeing anything over 200 HP on a 2.8/3.4 is impossible, not unless you turbo, supercharge it.
you may like the 2.8 power it wasn't bad, I achieved a 15.1 out of my old 2.8 A cheap route is the 4.9 motor you'd have to redo the wiring, mounts 4.9 can range from high 13's to low 15's depends on how good the motor is. 4.9's can be picked up cheaply $200-500 at most I do believe? |

ya dont bother with the iron duke you'll find yerself with a rod out the block soon enough go for a 3.8 if at all possible
the most ive ever seen out a 2.8 was 205hp so......

Re: v6 or l4???
low key has a good idea. 4.9 caddy's shouldnt be hard to find. i know of 4 or 5 i could get for $300 to $500 right now and from what i under stand they will bolt up to fiero trans. they have loads of torque so you would have great acceleration.
