95 Z28 dash light

Hello, I have a 1995 Z28 and its a great car. But my question is where the dash warning lights are there is a red light for the radiator glowing and I don't know what its for. The fluid level is good and the temp is good. I'm the second owner of this car so I don't know when the last time the coolant has been changed. I've only had the car a little over 4 months and it just hit 100,000 miles. The light has been on now for a couple of months and its beginning to worry me cause someone said it might have air in the line and it will eventually mess the motor up. does anyone know anything about this warning light and what I can do to get this problem fixed. Thank you for any help.

Ditto!

I have a 95 Z28 as well, and my low coolant light has been going off recently. I checked the level immediately after it went off the first time--it looked maybe a little low, but not a lot. I filled it up, and the next day it went off again and has been staying on.

I have rechecked the level and it seems fine, but the light is still on.

So.. you and me both

Re: 95 Z28 dash light

To both of you, try disconnecting the sender in the radiator, and using a wire, short the two connections together. If there is only one wire, simply disconnect the sender. With the above conditions met, turn on the ignition. If the light is off, the sender is likely the problem. Be advised, however, that on too many occasions, I have seen problems with coolant levels turn these indicators on, rather than sender issues. Make sure that both the radiator and the overflow bottle are filled to the marks before assuming a sender has failed. Ray
