Cool 1957 Chev Funny Car

This is what i've been working away on the last few weeks since the skyline was finished.
Fianlly got around to posting a few pics

Body needs to be sanded/primed and painted yet but thought i'd give you all a sneak peak while i wait for the decals to arrive.
Fitmet of parts has been a real bastard, but has turned out pretty good.

Hope you all like something different

Re: Re: 1957 Chev Funny Car

There was one like that with a white front and yellow flames with the rest in red that ran a 6.40 or something at the last race I went to.

Nice choice Pman, This like a doorslammer or something? It's nice to see someone building these kind of kits every now and again. This'd be like a 572 hemi, right?

That is Tom "the Mongoose" McEwen's '57 Chevy Funny Car. It was an exhibition car he campaigned in the early nineties as "The World's Fastest '57 Chevy". It's no doorslammer.

Strangely enough, it's also not the first flopper '57 ever kitted. Monogram produced a kit based on the chassis from their Snake/Mongoose pair (a 'Cuda and a Duster in the Snake/Mongoose Hot Wheels colors from 1971) that had a wildly modified '57 Chevy body. The kit was called the "Plum Crazy". It didn't last long, but I have one somewhere at the bottom of my stack.

I'm glad to see you're building something great out of the Revell McEwen kit, P-man. I like this a lot.
