A-Piller gauge cluster Q

Ok this w/e i'm planning to hook my cluster up i have a few Qs bout it first will this fit with my tach on the left (3inch) and the real worry its like dark black doesnt match the grey pillar plastic what do you do leave it paint pillar or the pillar pod? THX for teh help

You could paint it or leave it, I would leave it black for my car. The tach will fit if you place the pod in the right spot, test fit & see what works for you.

When I did mine, I took the gauge pod & my stock pillar panel to a body shop. It cost me $40 to have the pod molded to the pillar panel & the whole thing primered. If you decide to go that route all you'll have to do is get some paint that matches the color of your interior & you'll be good to go...

The gauge pod was already textured, they just sanded it enough to get the bondo/primer to stick. So a lot of the texture is still there. The only places on the pillar that are smoother than the rest is where they used bondo to 'mold' the pieces together. The smooth areas are not even noticeable though.

I got it done at a local body shop (which also happens to be the only Honda dealer around ). A buddy of mine was having all kinds of stuff done to his Del Sol, so I asked the guy if he'd be willing to mold the pod for me (on the side) & he said he'd do it for $40. I don't think it would cost much more for any other body shop to do it.

As for the paint, I just went to an auto parts store & got some "interior" paint. I used tan, but will be changing it to black soon.

BTW, AutoMeter makes a complete replacement pillar with the pod already built in. I would've got one of those instead of having mine molded, but they didn't come out until after I had the molding done
