dsm tunning ?s
whats up guys I was just wondering if any of you know of any good 4g63 engine tunning sites. when I say engine tunning I mean refrence sites on ideal air/fuel ratios at certain boost levels. etc etc . I'm coming from toyotas and hondas I had a 13.9 sec all motor 1g mr2 and a 14sec all motor sohc civic dx(97, wifes daily driver lol). I never knew the 4g63 was such a strong engine my next project was going to be a 2g turbo mr2 since I've been working on 1-2g mr2s for years but then I found out the 4g63 can handle 450whp on stock block and you can run high 12s with just intake,exhaust,and boost controller not to shabby. I'll probably be on here asking alot of ? like I said I'm not that familiar with the 4g63 but I'm learning more everyday.thanks alot.later

First and foremost, its spelled "tuning." The double "n" makes the vowel soft
Sorry, had to. Go to www.racingknowledge.org, DSM section, and there is a "sticky" called the ultimate AFC tuning guide or something like that. Lots of good info there from a friend of mine. Feel free to ask your questions on that site or this one, or even better on both Get as many opinions as possible. When it comes to tuning, few poeple really know how to do it right. When you see guys running 12s on 14Bs or other quick times on small turbos, you know they are tuned well. Etc. A datalogger is the key to tuning, get one that you like since its going to become your best friend Good luck with it.

sup again guys lol sorry about about the tuning misspell lol. Just wanted to thank you all for the response and info you've been really helpful. I have a ? about this data logger deal whats it all about I've never heard of it until I started getting into DSMs.thanks alot.

A datalogger tells you what the ECU is seeing. Its better than even wideband tuning. You cant use any type of fuel tuning device like an AFC etc if you dont know which way to adjust it. The datalogger will tell you that. The difference between a car that has a lot of parts and runs slow, and a car that has very few parts and is fast, is tuning. The datalogger is required for accurate tuning.

I did some research after I wrote that post and found some good info on them seems so far the best on is the DSMlink I read the artlce about a/f tunning and it was great. It seems easy once you learn your system and what is what. I've never takled tunning like that with afc etc etc its all been straight forward tunning. I'm excited to get started. just want to say out of all the boards as far as honda/toyota/ etc etc you guys are a much helpful group of enthusiats. thanks again.

DSMlink is by far the best option for 2Gs, and even some 1g guys have made the conversion. Read up on thier site and check out their download section. When you buy, you also get access to a whole forum for DSMlink owners. Good luck with whatever you choose.

sup I went to the dsmlink website and checked out thier dsmlink with the v2 and socket deal for like $645 It looked to me like a standalone cause you can tune fuel for bigger injectors with it, you can tune your timing,almost eliminate the MAF, it has Anti lag etc etc is that what it is if so thats a great deal cuase most standalone like power FC and AEM cost upwards of $1300. thanks guys.

It is NOT a standalone, and that is the BEST thing about it. Standalones are WAY more mork than they are worth on a DSM. Stock ECUs have run into the 7s, why reinvent the wheel. DSMlink lets you change many things though, but only the things we need to change for power. Very powerful system, especiually V2. Worth every penny. Finding a 95 eprom ecu can be a PITA though...
