96 radio upgrade

I want to upgrade My sound system to include a cd player ..I want it to be OEM..I have am/fm cassete now..is there other years of explorer radio that will work in my vehical?

it's my understanding that '95-'97 have the same wiring harness. There is a company named Scosche that makes all types of wiring harnesses and installation kits for just about any kind of car. You might check what they have.

I'm running a '98 factory CD/Tape premium unit in my '95. The harness is different. Went to a stereo shop, bought the plug/harness to go into the truck's connector, wired that to another that fit the radio, and worked fine.
