On the engine code below where it says b16a. It should be a 1 million series. From what i've been told thats the xsi. The sir is the 5 million series. Usually xsi does come with s1 and j1 trans.

xsi ecm has better maps, and the IACV is in a different place...I think.

What? No that doesn't mean its from an xsi? Sir and xsi can have pr3. About the IAC , they're all in the same place. Theres no difference in the motor.

Correct - 5million series for EF8/9 and 1million for the DA6. XSi =S1, SiRs = Y1.

Forget the better mapping and IACV stuff, it's bullshit. I have the EF9 motor in my car and 2 XSi blocks in my carport and I can tell you now that you cant pick the two apart. How can an XSi have better mapping? It was released before the SiR.

Rumor is Honda did it so the XSi wasn't too much slower than the sir. Not that hard for Honda to detune the SiR.

I think i know what you're talkin about. You are talkin about the pwo and pr3 ecu. That has nothing to do with IAC and whatever you mentioned earlier. Both sir and xsi are the same in power wise.

Re: how do i tell if my jdm b16 came from a si-r or a integ xsi

65-75% of all jdm b16a are out of the interga xsi
pr3 ecu = xsi
j1 or s1 tranny = xsi
the motor is easy to tell from the extra stuff on the intake manifold.
Sir's came with the y1 tranny and pw0 ecu.
Also, if It's got the extra dashpot, and it's got the Teg ALB and cruise control lines coming out of the Tranny, then it's definitely from an Integra XSi..

Be Careful because Osakajdmmotors.com sells these when u order a JDM B16A. Be careful u don't get a automatic one also that they just bolted a 5 spd on cuz the cams are weaker.

some people say that they tried to make the heaveir teg as fast as the sir so the ecu has a little better map and the tranny will accel faster but I don't think this is true...i've heard the fuel mapping is identical.

Also, check the plugs on the harness....are they grey or white?

Very factual information here. I've had both B16A motors in my crx's. my first was a 5 million from a sir, and the 2nd was a 1 million from an automatic integra xsi/rsi. The automatic cams DO suck ass. I put the 5 speed cams in from my old sir motor and noticed a big difference. And sammy's right...the IACV's are in the same spot.

Bullshit.

That is the biggest load of crap I have EVER heard.

Both produce 160ps and the dyno curves are EXACTLY the same @ the wheels. Fact.

How do I know? Check my sig and then think about the fact that there are grey import XSis in this country as well as EFs, not EF wannabes.

Either you are misinformed or full of shit.

Just my

Yep. Both are 160, they're no different of motors.
