Component setup

I am looking into getting a new component system for my 98 civic ex. From what I can tell Infinity are just about the best for highs.

So I'm thinkin 6.5" component by Infinity
6x9 infinity
2 kicker 12"

Re: Re: Component setup

i am not sure what size your speakers are but i would get infinity if i were you. pioneer are ok, i had them in my old car, they weren't the greatest but they were better than my stock speakers. alpine makes very good headunits.

Re: Component setup

yeah, ive heard bout infinity. how much are they compared to the pioneers. i know some prices for pioneers. for infinity, say...like 6 1/2" speakers...how much are the 3 ways or 4 ways? and where can you get the speakers really cheap? how much are the alpine head units too? thanks!

Re: Re: Component setup

go to ikesound.com and you will find very good prices on all this stuff, this is the cheapest place that i know of other than ebay. the best ones are the infinity kappas and you could go for a component set of 6 1/2s , that would run around 145 at ikesound, or you could get the kappa 3 ways which are like 99 at ikesound, then you could go one step lower and get the reference speakers or components. infinity doesn't make 4 way speakers, they are still much better than pioneer. the alpine headunits are anywhere from 150-400, check ikesound and you will see all the different ones.

the difference that i know of is that the kappas have higher wattage, i haven't heard both just the kappas and they sounded awesome.
