Lots of people remove the A/C during a swap, or just because, to free up a little extra power. That could be it.

Secondly, my car is a 92 DX (4 door)...not a canadian one, but a US one bought here in Oregon back in 92 by the origanal owner (I have the original records). Anyways, it had A/C. Maybe it was an added option, I don't know. The A/C button on the inside is there, and the A/C is there in the engine bay, intact, and working. My car was bone stock when I bought it, and was purchased that way (w/ a/c) new. Maybe not all DX's came with A/C, but mine certainly did. I ahev detailed other 5th gen DX's (coupes) with A/C as well. Maybe it was on the 4 doors and only some coupes, but not the hatchs.

Lightbulb

Well, if it should help any, I have SOHC, and I removed my AC. More power to my engine, plus the power to weight ratio also comes to mind.

It is hot where I live, but I can deal with it. I'm really used to the heat, plus I now have reason to drive fast, hehe!

my 94 DX has AC too, but no power steering. Only a pain when turning in tight places when i'm tired or feeling lazy.

Oh, you CAN keep your AC and power steering when swappin in a DOHC motor, it's not hard to do. You just have to get the correct brackets/mounts for the a/c and power steering. I think the 94-97 Del Sol Vtec moutns work for the a/c, I can't remember about it for ps, I 'll check and post it later. I know for a fact you can swap in a DOHC and keep a/c and ps. I know, becuase a long time ago, I swapped in an LS (B18B1) into my 92 dx, and I retained my a/c and power steering.

Im looking for AC parts for my 92 dx hatch if anyone wants to get rid off their unused weight clunker AC system. Please drop me a line if you want to sell them. [email protected]
