"The Supercars"

"The Supercars" by John Lamm.

Has anyone seen this book before? I came across it at B&N the other day. It had a silver McLaren in it. Has anyone looked through it?

If you are talking about the 10" x 10" softbound book with the F50 on the cover, I own a copy.

Re:

That's the one. I thought I was onto something with the F1 that is in there (XP3?). Maybe if the photos were recent we would be able to say that XP3 is alive and well. But I didn't see anything in there that suggested when the photos for the book were taken.

No need to scan (I browsed through it at the store). Thanks though.

My copy is at home, but I would be surprised if it was XP3. I don't recall that book having anything new or exciting in regards to the F1 inside.

It's not the Clinic Car. It has the "XP" mirrors and no front foglights.

Which car is this (because the book also has this picture in it):
F1 Interior

Am I on a wild-goose chase?

Re: "The Supercars"

that pic should be 001. i think it is, peloton doesn't. in the larger pic in driving ambition you can see the chassis plaque and it says 001. peloton thinks that it was put in the mock up cockpit to make it look realistic. i guess we may never know..

I have the book but mine has an XJ220 on the cover. The car in my version is the clinic car. It has the 'eyebrows' as only the clinic car and XP1 have and it's silver, it also has the low fog lights, and on the rear shot from the same photoshoot (a shot not included in my book) you can see it only has 4 strips under the rear lights instead of 8. Heres the pic thats in my book (for the sake of making the thread load faster, I'll just post the thumbnail): My book also has the side shot of this pic with doors down.

I might be mistaken about the foglights as that picture looks just like the ones in the book. But the mirrors in that pic are on the door, no? But the Clinic car has the mirrors on the A-pillar. And wasn't XP1 crashed in the desert?

The book was first published in 2001. I guess it's possible that John Lamm photographed XP3 before the BMW chariman punted it (circa 1993). But this could be XP3 if it was repaired.

By the way, the interior shot I posted earlier is not the same picture in the book. But it looks like the same interior.

Oh well, this may never be answered.

Re: "The Supercars"

The clinic car has had low mirrors. I think it only had them for a very short time and then the high mirrors were reattached
