Unhappy Check Engine Light on '92 Explorer

The past month my check engine light has been coming on. I purchased an inexpensive code reader, and everything pointed to the throttle position sensor. In addition to the engine light, my gas milage has dropped from 21 mpg to 15 mpg. I removed the sensor, and metered it, and found that it was bad, so I replaced it. However, my check engine light still comes on, and my gas milage as not improved. I need to replace my radiator due to a leak, and was wondering if this could also be caused by a temperature sensor? Any ideas???

Re: Check Engine Light on '92 Explorer

did you allow the computer to reset?
sometimes the light won't go off until you reset the computer

just removed the battery terminals and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then reconnect the terminals,

if the check engine light comes on again, i would have it hooked up to a code reader at a shop or dealer

not sure about the radiator deal
