[03 Tiburon]
Took my factory gauge faces out and replaced them with otto racing's silver face gauges. At night when the lights are flipped on they turn a beautiful plazma blue, or with the flip of a single switch they change to green. Blue looks a hell of a lot better. Has a turn style dimmer also for fine tuning the perfect lit atmosphere of your choice.. This is a really nice "beauty" modification for a decent price.. Kit ran me about 32 dollars.. Took it to Hyundai to get a price quote for the installation... Since my girlfriend works at the local Hyundai dealer here she sweet talked the service department dude into a nice installation fee of only 40 bucks.... I suppose I could of done it but didnt want to risk messing something up and voiding that warranty. They ensured me my warranty was still in full tact.. Just putting this out there to let everyone know of a decent internal mod at a good price..... Happy moding! |

i bouhgt the gauges on ebay and made the needles and have a bunch of blue leds behind there to make the speedo blue. conversly though, thats why the needles arent as bright. i bought some 5500mcd blue leds though, and hopefully those will brighten up the needles a bit.

well the gauges didnt line up right cause they were for the RD1 tibbies. not a big difference, but it took me about 3 hours, but that included not knowing what im doind and having to improvise a lot. id say if i tried it now, i could get it done in about 30min.
the needles though, are a whole nother story. trying to get those things to light up good with blueleds is tough, and i have spent a lot of hours on that. |

Re: Gauges
Anyone with a 03 Tibby changed the lights behind the CD player and controls?? They light red like the factory gauges did. Well now that the gauges are blue lit I would like the rest of the controls to match.. What bulb would be best to buy to match? Number of bulb, size, any info is appreciated..

i dont know about the 03 tib, but the best bulb for the 01 tib is the "single led wedge base bulb" at www.superbrightleds.com.

Re: Gauges
Checked out the site and looks like they got alot of good stuff. Called Hyundai to get the factory bulb specs.. Now I can call or email super leds and get a perfect match.. Thanks for the link..
