Help installing key ignition

Hey I just got a key ignition (part you put your key in) ignition cylinder not sure what its called but you have to push a pin in and I can not find it. Directions say to turn the key in the run position then push the pin in that holds it in. Please help me with this, I have a 1990 F-150 2wd. Thanks!

Re: Help installing key ignition

If this is anything like my '86 F350, then the pin is just above the "hazard" button and below the ignition switch. If you get close to it you will see a pin inside of the hole in your colunm. all you will need is a ball point pen or something like it to push the pin.
I hope this helps you.

Re: Help installing key ignition

that is correct winddrifter the retaining pin is located in the trim shround on the bottom side of the steering column. But on earlyer models non-tilt the steering wheel has to be off and it's right in plain view.
