You only paid $3500? That's very cheap! Where did you get the first one from?

Yeah that's a good deal too. Where'd you get it from?? I paid $4k for my ctr engine and I know that's a lot of money, but everything on it was in tip top shape, and even came with some extra hoses/wires and stuff.

I can get it (JDM) for $3800+shipping. I would say shipping is another $300 at the most and that's including cost of packaging. :-) But you're right..you get what you pay for

my friend got it through one of his friends who knows a dealer in japan osaki i think. anyways he has a shop over in albany which is in near oakland california. i took a look at the engine and i guess during shipping the valve cover was craked so they replaced it for free. i got itr five lug with gun metal rims tein susp, buddy club exhaust full swap everthing including labor for like 7500. let me know if anyone needs jdm stuff i can basically get anything. all i need now is the shift linkage i can't seem to find it anywhere. oh by the way the del sol was automatic before. but i would rather pay a lot for an engine then pay less then what they go for for a lemon. but to each his own good luck with your next swap.

That's not a good price, it's average, and that had better be complete, and shipped.

You could get a B16A head, and a GSR block, and build a "poor man's type R" using the other parts, and tranny from your old motor. The ITR and B16A heads are the same cast, score yourself some ITR cams, send it out for a light PnP, and you're almost there, for about $2000 less than buying a ITR motor.
