My father in law has his driving test today.

He's reached the age where he has to be assessed on his continued ability to drive.I hope he fails,he's a total menace on the roads and I won't ride with him,or let him drive my kids anywhere. He's a bad-tempered old Dutch fool who has learnt that if you play chicken with the traffic, you win.I hope that one day soon he meets another silly old git coming the other way.

The Dutch are notoriously stubborn, and many of them drive far beyond their capability.

This is a typical end result.....

I agree
Its way way to easy to get a liscense in this country and ESPECIALLY if your old. I dont care who it offends, they need their liscence taken away.

My parents must be smarter than yours. They taught me that respect has to be earned. In all my seventeen years of marriage, her parents have never once inspired me to respect them. They are not the kind of people that I would choose to share a life with, they've been divorced for over 20 years, but it still preoccupies their every dealing with the family.

I'm surprised no one has commented that it must have been a woman driver!

I'm thinking a wannabe A***n drifter who couldn't afford a Supra or 200SX and slid his ass into a service station in his Mk2 Golf

Strangely enough, I have the same problem with the mom-out-law, father-out-law is alright fortunately.

Another coincidence, I was taught the same, you respect people because the deserve it, they deserve it because they earned it.

.....and when Iwas your age, that's the way it was for me too.Now that I have passed 40,have kids of my own and seen a bit of life from both sides of the coin,I reckon I'm entitled to an opinion. And that opinion is that age does NOT automatically equate to wisdom.

i understand that, but that was harsh! i mean they're as old as you, so of course your parents will probably know more...i mean i respect you because you're older than i am(or because you could ban my ass), but that caught me by suprise man...i wasn't expecting you to say somethin like that though...how sharp and biting taranaki can be
