Re: coolant overflow tank

mine up and disapeared one day... i was driving around and noticed my temp fluxing, i pulled over and upon popin' the hood i noticed it was gone. the cap and coresponding hoses were still there, so i ran the vent hose into the tank drop hose and filled the rad back up. i ordered a new tank from a dealer, and it was only like 20-30 bucks. i don't mind the price, but that's just me... saved me the trouble of searching around...

Ashah, dont know if it will apply to you, but here goes. i have a 1G (laser with 2.0 NT. i think you are much newer). my coolant bottle has a plug in the bottom for the low level sender. mine leaked there. i swapped it out for a 6 buck generic from checker. i never liked the way coolant was drawn in through the hose out the top (if cap doesnt seal real well, as mine didnt, it compromises the efficiency of the system). the generic draws from the bottom of the reservoir, so the above problem is not an issue. i live in AZ, so having a somewhat properly functioning cooling system is important to me. function is more important than aesthetics to me for this. good luck.
