1999 Eclipse Modifications

Hi, i just got a silver 1999 Eclipse GSX, i just want to know what upgrades i can get to make the car a monster! My budget is 7,000 dollars. Thanks for your help.

holy shit...7 grand! where to start, where to start! get injectors, fuel pump, new BOV, FMIC, upper and lower IC pipes, MBC - such as AVC-R and you might want to get a S-AFC...there fun to play with, i would suggest DSMlink...cause with that much money for upgrades you will need to tune it and probably keep track of your datalog (you will need a laptop or a Palm Pilot<cheaper to connect to it). turbo back exhaust, new turbo - i would go towards the 20g or maybe if you want crazy boost the T66 is a nuts turbo (its bigger than some peoples heads!!) but that has a lot of lag, so if you have a good fuel system you could do a 75 shot of nitrous to help the spool up so you can loose the turbo lag, i just got 75 shot ZEX wet kit to help with mine just put it in today and i works great!!! well i know there is a lot more you can do for that kind of money but it is all i can come up with right off the top of my head that i have... i'm sure GSXRacer will be along to add to the list or tell you something different, hope that helps!!!

Thats about 6100 bucks, and more than enough for 11s. I didnt include little things like boost guage, etc. And there is no labor incuded. But this is all of the big stuff right up to built block and built tranny. This will basically max out the 7 bolt block. The next level is a 6 bolt or built 6 bolt block, and larger turbo.

BTW, this is basically a copy of Joe G's mod list on our site, www.posracing.net. That car went 12.0 at 116 with me driving, on a small 16g turbo. If you look at Chads mod list, he dynoed 500 whp. These are typical upgrade paths and results, so use them as a guide. Good luck.
