GM stereo code
hey guys, I have a friend with a '97 chevy cavalier. She lost power and now the factory CD/radio will not work. She forgot the code she entered and now she's locked out. The dealer wants to charge her like $60, do any of you know how to reset this thing without going to the dealer ? If this is possible, I need to know exactly what to do -thx

Re: GM stereo code
Try another dealership, also. If you stick it to them, they will usually do it for free since all they are really doing is making a quick phone call with the number from the radio that jay hullett is talking about, to get the unlock code. They aren't doing any real labor, more customer service IMHO.
