question about speakers and decks

ok well i just went to my local a&b sound and I purchased the Alpine CDA-9813 its a 240 watt deck i was told it's really good. But now I need 2 pairs of 6 1/2" speakers. I don't really want subs in my car, I just want some really good sounding 6 1/2" that can produce some decent bass. What 6 1/2" speakers would u recommend paired with the deck I have?

6 1/2 s are not going to give you very good base no matter which ones you get, but i would say the best ones i ever heard were infinity kappas, you could also go one step higher and get the compponent set that comes with a sepperated tweeter. 6 1/2s are sopposed to be for midrange so you won't get a ton of base from them even if you tried to run an amp to them.

i know that but i mean just some bass without distortion like the stock speakers have, they get distorted when you turn them up with some bass enabled.

Re: question about speakers and decks

your best bet would be to get the infinity kappas and they would give you the most bass you can get out of 6 1/2s. these are the speakers that i am going to get with an alpine cd player. i like them the best out of any i heard. if you have a spot to put 6x9s i would get the infinity kappa 3 ways and put an amp to them, you would get much better base from these. i have heard them with an amp and they sound about as good as 8 inch subs.
