Bose System Comes Stock in Acura RSX Type-S

the 2003-04 acura rsx type-s supposedly comes with a bose system stock. According to Acura.com this is what they say about the system "The sophisticated AM/FM dash unit of the Acura/Bose® Music System includes a cassette player and an integrated 6-disc in-dash CD changer. It can be played at any volume level without audible distortion."

does anyone know if this is true or not??? if so... how loud is 'loud' without being distorted?

and, are there any other systems like this that can go very loud without being distorted?

From what I've heard it is decent as far as stock systems go, but it is nothing compared to what you could get for the same price in the aftermarket.

The only way they could set it up so it never has any distortion is to limit everything. So if you crank up the bass, then turn up the volume, it will cut back the bass to keep it from sounding like crap. While this might be good for someone that doesn't know what they're doing with a system, I would MUCH rather be able to tune it how I like, and get rid of the distortion myself instead of having a computer do it for me.

I just adjust the gain and crossovers on both amps and all of the settings in the headunit until I like it. If I had the money I would get an RTA and a 15-30 band EQ, but that won't be any time soon.

I have tons of pics of my system that aren't on that webpage. I take pictures of everything. There are probably 40+ pictures of my focals, the old kappas, all of the fatmat, the amps, etc. They aren't on a single page though, just individual pics.

If you want to look through them they're all on here (atleast most of them, I just took some pics of the inside of my old us acoustics amp and I haven't put those on the comp yet). Just look for anything that sounds audio related, focal, audio, install, etc

Avionixx or DEI, which would you prefer to power your subs?

Never heard a DEI, but I've heard very good things
They are simlarly priced with that huge sale going on, so it would be a tossup for me. I would probably pick the DEI, but ONLY because I've never owned one before and I would like to try it out.

I suggest Elemental Designs, Idmax, or adire audio for new subs. It is worth waiting if you need the money, or just getting one.

Haven't heard one in person, but from what I've read they get extremely loud as long as you feed them the right about of power (1300+ rms) and you port them. They supposedly have pretty good SQ too
