Question Taillight Convesion Question....

OK, I have the 88 LX, and i can't stand out taillights. What I am wondering is, can i swap in the tails from the EX or DX model and change my reverse lights into the lights that illuminate the license plate? I haven't had those lights on for awhile and it hasn't gotten me pulled so I am guess its cool but I just wanna make sure the lights would fit in. Anyone know?

I've got a h/b, but I'm willing to bet the tail light bulbs are no different. So I'm pretty sure you won't be able to put your reverse bulbs (or sockets) into your license plate lights - unless you did some cutting & splicing of wires.

I have no license plate lights either, but that's because I have the WW rear bumper. I just got a chrome license plate frame Anyone behind me at night is gonna be seeing the reflection of their headlights on my license plate frame & it looks like I have l.p. lights

You would have to replace the whole trunk deck-lid to 90-91.

What I had planed on doing was simply splicing the wires into a longer wire and run it down to two bulbs on either side od the frame. I talked to a cop and he said he wasn't sure if it was illegal or not, but that none of the cops are gonna pull anyone over for it.

As far as passing inspection, idk

And why do I need the trunk lid? I am just wanting the two outer pieces . I don't it the lid for that do I?

Sorry, I miss understood. I thought you wanted to put 90-91 trunk cover w/reverse lights on as well. You have to replace the trunk lid if you want it to work right.
