Question What's the power to weight ratio on the Inline Four

What's the power to weight ratio of the Inline Four model? I would figure it would be pretty nice since the car is lighter than alot of the cars on the market. Does anyone know?

Not good

Find the weight, divide it by the hp, and you have your answer.

Re: What's the power to weight ratio on the Inline Four

ok 19 is it then. So what does that mean in comparison two some other cars in it's class?

(oh and to Tibby01, I picked 2700 because it depends what options you have on the car, Manual or Auto etc etc since the curb weight is from 2600-2900) (Base to GT)

The 1st number is from Manufacturer claimed power rating at the flywheel, the 2nd number is the one that really matters, dyno tested at the wheels.

03 Civic Si ------------ 16.8 --- 19.5
VW GTI 1.8T ---------- 16.1 --- 16.9
Tiburon V6 ------------ 17.6 --- 20.2
SER SpecV ------------ 15.4 --- 18.4
Mini Cooper S --------- 16.8 --- 17.1
SVT Focus ------------ 16.4 --- 18.6
Mazdaspeed Protege --- 16.4 --- 18.6
SRT4 ------------------ 13.0 --- 13.0

And a couple others not really in the same price range.

EVO 8 ------------------- 11.8 --- 13.7
STI --------------------- 10.6 --- 12.4
WRX -------------------- 13.6 --- 16.4
RSX-S ------------------ 14.0 --- 16.1
350Z ------------------- 11.1 --- 13.3

Alright, that tells us about the GT model, but does anyone have the same information for the base model?

which year???

you know the 2003 is heavier than the RD2 tibs and the RD1 tibs are lighter than the RD2 tibs.

be a little more specific and i can help.

or just go to www.autotrader.com and click onthe research tab and find out for yourself.

Well, assuming you guys are right with 2700 pounds...

19.3 flywheel --- 22.1 wheels

It's not really in the same class as the cars I listed above though, more along the lines of a Civic EX or Focus ZX3 etc.

you guys are funny...

he said power to weight, not weight to power.

on autotrader, it says the car weighs 2940lbs....so....140/2940= .047619
if you ment weight to power, then it is 2940/140= 21
