Ok got the motor, trans&axles need so info

Ready for the SWAP 3.8 out and 3.8SC in....Ok got the motor trans and axles....Just wondering where I should get gasket kit and any rebuild kits....Its a 99 gtp motor with 53k miles. I want to run through it and the trans... I read somewhere I should use a thrasher shift kit. I was thinking of getting the heads done and put in a new cam push rods....just thinking here but a different pulley kit and a programmed pcm. platinum plugs 8.5 wires I really dont want to drop a whole bunch of money I dropped 1100 on motor trans etc... I want my GT to fly I plan on leaving my GT badges on there...

So any info here I would appreciate it....

Steve

Ive had good luck and great succes with the Thrasher Cam. If you want ballz out performance go for a big cam and then get some computer work done. If you go with one of the big cams then get some head work done also. Intense sells a Stage3 head/cam combo that seems to work really well. Comp Cams sells a XP cam that has also proven to work well.

A modular pulley system is a must if you want to go fast. There are many different versions available so just choose one you like.

Make yourself a custom Fenderwell Intake or purchase one from the below vendors. (if you havent already)

The Other Guys headers would be a good choice especially if you choose to run a big cam.

Custom programming will allow you to get the most out of the cam. I run a DHP custom programmed PCM and also just purchased a custom tuned CYA Racing PCM.

Transmissions. Well they just suck. Shift kits are nice, but also remember that the PCM's will also increase line pressure on the shifts. Once you start making good HP look for your trans to break. I destroyed an aftermarket Limited Slip Differential that in turn destroyed my whole trans. During the first rebuild I had 3.29 gears/single chain/extra clutches added. My trans was rebuilt in Feb and I just recently, 2 months ago, broke that one. The new PCM combined with max setting on shift kit and solid alu. motor mounts combined finally to snap the input shaft.

Those are some of the major things. Im sure the others will be able to add more info.

DO NOT USE PLATINUM PLUGS!!!!!!! The DIS ignition will chew them up and spit them out. Get some good Autolites or AC Delcos.
