Your guess is as good as mine... Looks as if it's either just there for cosmetic reasons or it might have something to do with streamlining. Ideas anyone?

its a diffuser..helps the handling of a car by using the air flowing under the car i think..

yeah thats correct, it just smooths out the air flow. Helps the car remain stable at high speeds. Its hard to imagine the third gen rx-7 being even more areodynamicly efficient. If you need RE parts, let me know. I've got a good hookup.
