Question 97 blazer door problems

Now that it has gotten cold I seem to have a strange front driver side door problem. This only happens in the morning when it is really cold. The door does not seem to close all the way. The interior light comes on and it ringing starts. No matter what I do I can't make it stay secure. The door won't come open or anything but the light won't go off either. It flickers on bumps and around curves. Any suggestions? Its getting kind of annoying.

Re: 97 blazer door problems

I have identical problem. Cold makes things contract so pushbutton does not contact fully with button on door. Only happens in winter. I just folded up a paper napkin , taped it onto the door button with a few layers of duck-tape. Lights havn't flickered so far.
