stuck in 1st gear...HELP!!!
I have a 91 oldsmobile cutlass calais with a 2.5L engine and a 5 speed transmission. I get in the car today and I'm driving and I get to the stop sign and I put it in first gear and when I did, I heard a click but didnt really think anything of it. So I pull out and I try to shift into 2nd but it won't go. It's stuck in first. The shifter moves from the 1st gear position to the 2nd gear position but its not goin into gear. And the shifter will not move sideways at all. The shifter just kinda flops around as if it were in neutral. Could it just be the linkage or somethin? Someone please help me!!

Just thought id let you guys know what happened in case it happened to anyone else. I guess it uses cable linkage and one of the cables snapped from the cold weather..im just glad its fixed, drivin with one gear is bad
