Lowering my TA need advice on Exhaust/Headers
Alright I need some help here guys I have a 94' Trans Am with 17' low profile tires and Im getting ready to lower it using Eibach's Pro-Kit Springs (1.25" Drop Front & 1.25" Drop Rear).
The question I have is which would be the best header/exhaust/y pipe set up so that I dont scrap the old girl when I go over a speed bump. I was thinking about doing the hooker long tube headers, hooker y- pipe, and borla exhaust. But I'm open to suggestions and advice on what to do. Thanks

Re: Lowering my TA need advice on Exhaust/Headers
LT's are probably out of the question if you're gonna lower the car. They're low enough to reduce ground clearance to having problems getting over speedbumps without the car lowered, so I couldn't imagine having them on with it lowered. I would say get some Mac shorties, or some mid-length headers. They'll still give you good gains, not as good as LT's, but good nonetheless. That way you can have your performance and your looks, which I think it what you're striving for...

Quote:
Well if I can't have my LT Hookers if I lowered my car, I simply wont lower the car its stylish enough. Id rather have the HP gains over looks Oh and the main reason I wanted to lower the car was to lower the center of gravity so that I could corner better in the beast. Making it look better was just an added bonus.

Re: Lowering my TA need advice on Exhaust/Headers
Same here, I would like to lower my car, but I want SLP's LT's on my car in the future, so I'm not gonna do that. Instead of lowering it in the future, I'm just gonna get some 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 Z06 rims for the SS

Re: Lowering my TA need advice on Exhaust/Headers
Hey man if you want to retain the stock height and still be able to handle better get the SLP suspension package. It is the stock height but handles a lot better... Here is a link to it at the SLP website:

Re: Lowering my TA need advice on Exhaust/Headers
I found it cheaper still. I always go through Stealth Performance. No one I've seen anywhere has prices better than Mike...
