It's time for a new family car...94-95 540!
First of all, my family of 5 need a new family car. Our current car is a 1987 528e (210,000 miles).
I don't think it's going to pass it's next CA smog test 2 years from now without some major work. I thought I'd get rid of it buy the end of this year so I can get some money out of it. (I'm in the Bay Area if anyone wants a 1987 528e AT.)We were of course looking for a sedan. What came in mind were 98+ Ford Crown Victoria, 96+ E320, and my pick, 94-95 BMW 540I. Anyone own one? What should I look for when buying a 94-95 540I? Please tell me all about them! thanks |

Some things I have to know are if they use tming belts or chains, and want to make sure they utilize the OBD-II system.
How can OBD codes be read with 94-95 5 series? thanks thanks |

Don't buy a 540I unless your a trained bimmer mechanic. I don't know what you should buy, maybe a 94-5 525 with a manual trans. Don't start off with the bmw space shuttle.......Bill.
