Vibration AFTER installing Flowmasters????

I have a 2004 Silverado ext cab with a 4.8. Just rolled over 400 miles today. Today I added true duals with 2 40 series flowmasters. I noticed that I'm getting a small amount of vibration in the cab (almost as if its with the "pulse" of the engine) Is this normal? If it is please exuse the stupid question. Thanks!

Re: Vibration AFTER installing Flowmasters????

If I understand what your asking correctly, all your hearing is the mufflers resonating. The Deltaflow series of Flowmaster isnt quite as bad, but I have a single inlet, dual outlet 40-series and mine does the same, just not quite as bad a true duals.

$300, no tax. :-) No headers. If you like loud, this is it. Personally I think its a little loud for me. Good thing is my wife won't drive it. Will headers void my factory warranty? Pro's and con's of headers?

I am definitely not the expert here, but i think headers will void your warranty. But i think anything other than factory exhaust might do that as well. But i am not for sure. I would also be interested in knowing the pros and cons of headers with the new vortec v8s, if anyone cares to fill us in.

Re: Vibration AFTER installing Flowmasters????

i have the answer to your header problems.....if you go with edelbrock..they do not void any manufactures warrenty...and they are 50 states emmissions legal...pros...they dont make the truck that much louder but give a nice deep rumble, added power, better fuel economy when driving with a light foot, Cons...the only con is that when i get on it my gas mileage goes down really bad. but when i dont have my foot to the floor i get about and average of 16 to 19 miles per gallon...oh yeah thats on a 2002 extended cab silverado...hope that helps......

Re: Vibration AFTER installing Flowmasters????

I have a single inlet dual outlet 40 series flowmaster on my truck with 3 1/2" tips. I wouldn't want any other setup.

Re: Vibration AFTER installing Flowmasters????

i have eldlebrock headers and a single in dual out flowmaster exhaust. i love the way they sound the headers did make the sound deaper. i get about 12-14 mpg. one thing i found out doing mods to your truck will make you press the gas pedel A LOT more. it is hard to go threw a take of gas with a light foot. i used to get 17mpg

Edelbrock's T.E.S. is awsome. (Tubular exhuast system) a little costly but I have put a set on my Camaro and loved it. I then put a set on my 4.3 S10. Really liked them after that.

I am going to get the set up for my future 89 K1500 soon. Buying the truck Friday. $431 for the stainless and more for coated.

The headers on most set ups come with a Y pipe and they make it simple to connect to your stock convertor. Its a do it yourself add on in most cases.
From what I read they dont void any warranty.
The folks at Edelbrock.com will answer your emails FAST too. So I would just go there for any info you can rely on about T.E.S.

Flowmasters are known for that interior sound you are getting. You will love it or hate it. I cant drive with out it.
I like to put turn downs after the Flowmasters.

Is it me or does $300 for true duals sound awfully cheap?

Re: Vibration AFTER installing Flowmasters????

That's a very good price for true duals. I paid $300 for one in two out. I wish I could have gotten that deal!
