Maybe I'm showing my age, but to have to replace front brake calipers on a 2000 Sierra at 43,000 miles seems crazy. They were locking up and had overheated and warped the rotors. Anyone know if this is common?

Re: GMC Locked Calipers
I have not seen any 800 series trucks (99 up new body style) with locked calipers.
First thing I would suspect is the possiblity of brake fluid contamination if I didn't see any physical reason for the calipers to lock up

I had the same problem with my 93 seirra - did what you did changed the calipers and thought that would fix it ...NOT. then a friend of mine told me to change the brake hoses too. so i did and wala FIXED seems that the inner lining of the hose breaks down and acts like a check valve when you push on the brakes it sends fluid to the caliper but when the pressure is released the hose restricts the return thus keeping pressure in the caliper. hope this helps.

Re: GMC Locked Calipers
I got a 1999 c3500 dually. My driver side caliper is sticking. I smell brake dust really bad. I changed the driver side caliper. Nothin. When I hit brakes the truck pulls right. When I release brakes it pulls left. Truck only has 45,000 miles. Any Ideas?
