Is it good car???

Hello all,

I want to buy Honda Passport and need a good advice. Hope someone will help me with my problem.
Honda Passport 1997, 70K miles, 4WD, 3.2L, V6, manual trans (I like manual). And they ask $7000 for it.
This car is clean and looks fine, but I know nothing about Honda Passport.
What is the average mileage for this kind of car? Is it too old 1997 for Honda Passport? What do you think about the price?
I want to buy it and use at least 40-50K miles or 3-4 years without any problems, is it possible or it's a dream?

Please help me.

Best regards,
Oleg

It should be called Isuzu Passort not Honda Passort since it's made by Isuzu with Isuzu parts. They aren't so bad but, I would not buy one. If the intake gaskets haven't been replaced, they will need so soon.

average miles per year - 12,000-15,000

Jack -
My 1999 Passport drinks coolant like a mutha. No external leaks of coolant or oil. Head Gaskets appear to be ok based on pressure testing the cylinders. I've been thinking the culprit might be intake gaskets. What have you run into with Passports and Intake Gaskets?

NO!!!!!

It is impossible to buy a Passport and drive it for 40-50,000 miles without any problems ... in fact ... it is damn near impossible to drive one for 100 miles without problems. This was the biggest mistake for a vehicle that Honda ever made. Thank the Lord that they have finally stopped making them.

I am not just speaking to be speaking ... I am an ex-Honda tech and worked on way too many of these. I am still with the dealership as a Service Coordinator and see these in every day with some kind of issue. Hopefully the year 2018 will get here soon so maybe all of these POS will be in the junkyards.

As a ex Honda tech & Service coord. you should know the Passport was NOT built by Honda.

Are you serious? I didn't know that.

I am well aware that the Passport is NOT a Honda. I was answering the person's question about whether or not this was a good car. I clearly stated ... NO!
