Question Towing

Just got a '99 Yukon with a 5.7l and plan on towing a 5x8 cargo trailer. I've heard differing views on what gear to drive in (D or 3.) Anyone have experience/advice? Don't want to burn up a transmission!

Re: Towing

With such a small trailer, it should not matter. Check the owners manual. I tow my 20 ft. enclosed trailer / race car in D. 116k on it with no problems. Change the fluid and filter regularly. I keep my speed at 70 or below.
