b18c1 w/b16 tranny

i know a kid who jsut got a b18c1 in his hatch w/ a b16 tranny.
and also just read in import tuner that a gsr had a b16 traanny too.
question is, WHY???

nobody knows huh? im guessing something to do with gear ratio?

is it true that the b16 tranny on a b18c1 is better for 1/4mile racing?
