tap tap thump THUMP CLANKACLANK - Supercharger Woes
I am afraid that my SC has given up the ghost this morning, and with absolutely NO warning. Right after I got some gas, I noticed a faint tapping noise. After checking guages, I decided everything looked good enough to continue to my appointment. The tapping continued, only when I was at a stop.
Over the course of the day (and you can read that as: While trying to get home) I managed to pull over and try and troubleshoot. I thought maybe the fan blade had a cat in it or something. Nooooo way. The SC was almost shaking from there being a clear problem within it. I finally got it home, but it's hosed. It rattles, thumps, grinds (a little, but I'm sure there's more to come) and has affected everything. So, my baby's off to the shop tomorrow morning. I couldn't get a warranty appointment till monday morning, so I'm hoping they can squeeze me in. Wish me luck. |

Re: tap tap thump THUMP CLANKACLANK - Supercharger Woes
You should've removed the SC belt if possible. Just as a precautionary action. Some major damage could've been done had the supercharger come apart in any way.
Good luck geting it fixed.

Re: tap tap thump THUMP CLANKACLANK - Supercharger Woes
God, did I ever want to! I considered cutting the belt off, but I didn't have a knife on me
I'd have had to burn it off with a lighter!Just an awful, sucky day. Fortunately, my customers understood a little bit of schmutz on my hands. Had I come in with it all over my suit, there might have been problems
