Re: load annoying rattle 1995

I have a 97 Grand Cherokee TSI (5.2 V8) and I have some annoying rattle too....I don't know if it's my custom Gibson exhaust that wasn't properly installed, which was on the car when I bought it, or it's a bearing or what...I'm hoping it's a loose exhaust system...IF SO...does anyone know how to fix that?

The same thing is happening in my 96 jgc...i believe it started awhile back when I slammed on brakes to avoid an accident...it seems like somethings loose, any solutions?

Re: load annoying rattle 1995

My 94 JGC had a rattling sound and it was the brake shoes rattling because the shoe mounts were worn. I sed these "shims" that came with new brake shoes and now the rattle is gone.

Not sure guys, but maybe if you start your Jeep and let it run in idle like in your driveway and then try and get under the car during the day and maybe take a flashlight you could see what was shaking/rattling, that's really my only suggestion.

It could be your cat converter or muffler. When the jeep IS NOT running and the exhaust system is cool bang on the cat converter and muffler, sometimes they break up inside, that could be the rattle that your hearing.

Not really, depends on how much noise it makes and if you want to listen to it. It could cause a problem with emisssions tests, mine was and still is doing the same thing and it passed just fine. Waiting to get a whole new system just not sure which one yet.

Try out what this guy says, or ask Dale Aeppli.

Re: load annoying rattle 1995

Had this same problem with rattle coming underneath my 95 just yesterday. It was the catalytic converter. I took mine out and rodded it out, but could have gotten a new one installed for about a $100.
