Blazer Speedometer broken.???

I just bought a 1991 s10 Blazer and the whole dash is electronical.. the fuel gauge, temp gauge, oil.. so on... and everything works on it but the speedometer.. i was wondering if anyone knew if it was just a fuse or a chip or something.. well.. thanks for any help....

I've got a 93 w/digital dash and lately the speedo started fading out. When i would tap on the dash above it it would come back on. getting worse by the day.so i think in my case its a loose connection.
once i dig into my dash ill let ya know. may be you have tha same prob.

thanks.. that would be awesome if you figured out what was wrong.. haha.. oh well im a good estimater at speed i guess.. havent been pulled over yet!! ::knock on wood:: i thought it was weird that it is all digital because most of the blazers i see are regular ones.. i dunno... anyways.. thanks for any help!

Does your turn signals show up on the the display?
Once I got into the panel and snugged the connection back in it seemed
to help but it still went on and off. soooo..... i think it's a loose solder connection on the led circuit board.
will keep you posted.

no the turning signals do not light up. the only things that light up are the fuel, temperature, tach, and oil... i think im going to stop by the dealership to get their opinion and then head on down to the junk yard.. we will see.. ill let ya know what happens.... thanks for your help

hey thank you soo much! Yesterday I went to the Chevy dealership to see how much it would cost if they ordered it or whatever, and they quoted me $350.. i looked at him and told him he was crazy and that i would take my chances getting pulled over..i figured i would go to the junk yard or something, but i think it would be better to get it done at this place.. by the way.. how in the world did u find that.. well thanks!!

well now i know the thing actually works, so i wont be sending it to that place.. but thanks for the link.. last friday i was hanging out with my friend thats in the navy and we were getting something to eat and i came out and got in my car, at first i didnt think anything of it, but then as i started backing out, i noticed out of the corner of my eye that the speedometer turned on... out of no where.. it just decided that it would work all of the sudden.. i thought it was f---ing amazing.. anyways... after a little longer of driving.. the miles showed up... i have no clue why, but it did... it didnt go off until i was driving down a bumpy road and then they both dimmed out and then i gave the upper dash a good hit and they came on.. so im thinking of taking the dash off today and making the connection stronger... i really have no clue how to take this dash off... so... i guess its going to take me a little longer than normal.. can anyone give me an idea where the screws are or whatever? thanks
