fuel pump

I have a 92 s-10.It has the 2.5 L ,4TECH,4 cylinder engine.Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is?And, does the fuel filter have a fuse? It was running fine the other day and pulled around house and it just died.Motor turns over fine but would'nt crank.I got my son to listen to see if he could hear the fuel pump kick in.He said no.Took tank out and fuel pump. The fuel pump will not work.I unhooked the pump and tested the wires to see if I was getting any power. My 12 tester barely lights up like I'm not getting much power.Anyone know what could be causing this?

Re: fuel pump

relay is on the firewall, driver side.

hope you mean fuse for fuel pump, not fuel filter.... it is ECM1 fuse.

There is also a 'fuel pump prime' lead, hanging loose near the terminal block, near center of firewall (a little to passenger side) which bypasses the relay, so you can test the pump.

Re: fuel pump

I replaced the relay, checked the fuse,I already have the pump out of the truck, tested it and it works.I reconnected the whole assembly back up and it still does nothing.I checked the two wires going to the pump, one is grey and the other is purple. The purple barely lights up my tester. The grey has no power in it.???????

Re: fuel pump

Another thing to check: the fuel pump is also switched on/off by the oil pressure sensor switch (probably on driver side of block above oil filter or back of intake manifold behind the distributor). This is so the engine won't run if there is no oil pressure. You might want to check that switch.

The purple wire is for the sender
Gray wire is the 12 volt feed for the pump.
Definatly check the wiring from the switch to the pump might have a broken wire
