crazy stuff with keyless entry
I have a 94 bravada and the olds forum is no help soooooo i'm trying here.
Here goes, when i got this truck the drivers side power lock switch did not work but my keyless did. a couple of months ago the truck started to lock and unlock by its self (even the back glass) after i had parked and right after i would drive off. at that time i just thought it was because of the bad switch. keyless still worked. a week after the ghost locking started my keyless quit. the next day the guy next door told me that his remote(97 blazer) was unlocking MY doors. i then realized that some how the ghost locking must have been my system going in and out of program mode. that same day my battery died and got a new one. soooo i started with repairing my lock switch, turns out both lock and unlock wires were severed in the door boot to the body. repaired that and tried to program my remote with every suggestion on this forum. no luck. my reciever still works because guy next door can still unlock my car. ????? 1. could the severed wires cause it to go into program mode? 2. could a low battery cause program mode? 3. combo of both? THE BIG QUESTION: HOW DO I REPROGRAM MY REMOTE? This particular year seems to have 94 and 93 and possibly 95 gm components. any help at all would be great! THANKS |

Re: crazy stuff with keyless entry
I'm not sure, but this is how it worked in my 95 buick, which uses the same transmitter. Just try holding down the lock & unlock buttons on the remote simultaneously for a few seconds, and see if anything happens. Once again, I'm not sure, but I figured that you would appreciate an input recieved. Guys, if I'm wrong, don't rip me apart!
