Source for Interior Parts
I recently bought a '92 Park Avenue Ultra for next to nothing. Very nice car and well maintained. I thought I was buying it for a "beater" car, but after a couple of weeks driving it, I've grown very fond of it. Anyway, I'm looking for a source for some minor interior parts. One of the clips on the driver side visor is broken and would like to find new plates that cover the power window/seat adjustment panel on the front doors. The original ones have shed a lot of their paint. I've looked at what seems like hundreds of websites, but no luck yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Source for Interior Parts
bad news, the plates on the door are built with the switches, and must be bought as an assembly, quite pricy.
Good news, Your GM dealer can probably order you a new clip on the cheap. I've also read here of someone who pulled out there door plates, stripped the existing paint, repainted, and relettered the switches. Take a look around here, I know the thread is fairly recent. Good Luck and Welcome to AF!

Thanks for the info. Fortunately luck was on my side today. I was traveling the state today on business, and the flooding from all the rain forced me onto back road. Happened across a Park Avenue in a yard that had been rear ended. Knocked on the door and inquired about buying the car. After a long conversation, I was able to buy all the interior parts I wanted for $100. The interior was perfect and the same color as mine.
Didn't have a lot of tools with me, but was able to get all the panels, instrument clusters, inter trim, etc. Don't get lucky very often, but I'll consider this a hundred bucks well spent. |
