daytime running lights

i have a 96 with daytime running lights. now that i don't have to have them can i disconect them. how without causing problems to other lights?

No. They intentionally buried the circuit deep into other stuff to make it nearly impossible to disconnect due to the public controversy. They already knew a lot of people didn't like them and would try. This has also been gone over many times on GMForums. There is a dedicated fuse marked "DRL" but if you yank it out I think it affects other things. Try it.

no drl fuse

no drl fuse. runs through ign 1 fuse? there is a drl resistor.

unplugged drl resistor (located left front fender) all seems to work fine and no daytime running lights

damn indy i'm not that smart.my guess, no where since i unplugged it. am i screwing something up? i'm posting another question that i hope you can answer, i'm betting you can.

If nothing's getting hot and/or melting, and no fuses are blowing, it's probably fine.

i like having control of my options to turn things on or off and don't like the idea of the government deciding for me. or burning low beams at 1/3 power thus burning out my bulbs early. i believe they should be separate bulbs like gm trucks #3157LL, their cheaper than headlight bulbs.

on my buddy's 97 Chevy pickup if you want DRL off just push the park brake to the first click.
