Ground wires...pics OH and shaving...lol

Okay, I read about gettin bigger ground wires helping smooth out your car...so I thought what the hell. I just helped my friend install her subs, and I had some leftover 8 gauge wire, so I whipped up a little something, and let me tell you, I feel the difference. It not only smooths out your idle, but it sounds better and feels better too. Here are some pics...

Old Wiring....

New Wiring...

From the battery to the body...

From the battery to the clutch cable bracket...

I also shaved my antenna...

And my emblems...

Well there you have it, some more of the projects I've been working on. Hey 1PhatCX, my car is gettin down to bein all primered, another 4th gen goin primered...hell yea!!!

deffinately, I've seen a lot of good results from that particular modification. Glad to see that you gave it a try! Especially the older cars benefit from this as the stock grounding is far from adequate.

Very nice.

How hard was it do shave the antenna? I'm thinking of doing the same to my crx, but I don't have any experience doing body work. I can't see it being too hard to do.

It wasnt hard at all, however, you do have to break it to get it off, at least thats what I had to do. I was unexperienced and I couldnt wiggle it out, so I broke it off since what I was doing was permanent anyways. This was the first bodywork I have ever attempted to do, so anyone can do this. After you have your hole just sittin there, mix up some bondo, and fill in the hole. Most people will tell you to weld something over the hole, or to fill it in with somethin else then bondo over the top of that, but I saw no need for that. After the bondo hardens, I used a file to get it smoother, then sandpaper to make it perfect. It really was very easy.

if you shave your antenna, where do you put a new one at then, or do you go without? b/c my current antenna barely pick up some stations to start with, i wouldn't want mine worse.

I have an internal antenna in comin out the back of my head unit, so I dont need the other one, besides, when the place installed my head unit, they disconnected my stock antenna...bastards. Anyways, it doesnt work anyways, so I decided to get rid of it.
