Unhappy 87 Toy Charge/Brake Indicator On Dash

Hi All,
Having problem with my 87 Toy. Charge/Brake indicator lights came on dimly when the alt failed. After repacing battery and alt. the lights remained on dimly. When the emergency brake is pulled the lights come on brightly. Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks Alan

Did you guys check your batteries? There's obviously not enough juice going through somewhere, and a dying battery can cause weird problems even if the alternator is working fine.

I have the same problem. It is so nice to know I am not the only one. This past winter the chrage/brake lights came one and my idle would stay high. The after driving around they would go off and everything was fine. Then the alternator died. I replaced it and everything was fine for like a week. Then the lights started to flicker again and they have been doing so for a while now. The truck runs fine, idles fine and the alternator if good but I do not know what is the root of the problem. Did changing the battery help?
