weird electrical/wiring issue?

My tail lights are out, along with my instrument light (in the dash), my high-beam lights, and now my front parking lights. My high-beam lights went out first, then my tail lights and instrument light both went out at the same time. I noticed that when I wiggled the switch for my high-beam lights my instrument light would flicker and turn on at the same time with my tail lights, but now neither lights come on. I have replaced the tail light bulbs and I have also replaced the instrument light/tail light fuses (they weren't blown but I replaced them anyway) and still no luck. I took the car to the dealer and they said it sounds like a relay issue (which I'm not really sure what that means) and they can't get me in until next week so I'm desperate of any help I can get until then as I shouldn't drive with no tail lights. Also, I checked for fuses in the fuse box near my battery and they are ok. I checked every fuse in the panel underneath the steering column and everything looks ok. Anybody know how to fix this? It sounds like the switch to me, there are contacts in there taht can get worn out or dirty. You could try taking it apart and see if you can clean them but I would just let the dealer do it if you are not mechanically inclined.
