Recently noticed that the oil cooler line going from the oil filter to the oil cooler is leaking. The cooler lines are both rubber and metal, but it dosen't look like I can seperate the lines. They are attached to a plate which the oil filter screws into.
My question is, does anyone know if I have to replace the entire plate and lines or is there anyway the lines can be replaced where the rubber and metal meet. Thx. |

Re: 96 Caprice Ex-Cop Car Oil Cooler Line Leak
I think you have to replace the whole thing. The dealer can get it. If it's just a little damp, but not dripping, it's pretty much considered normal.

not quite sure where the leak is from what you say. if it is at the filter area, yes..there is a gasket that fits up there.

Re: 96 Caprice Ex-Cop Car Oil Cooler Line Leak
Best thing to do is replace the oil cooler if its leaking. I had a 95 caprice police package, bought it with a leaking line, the cooler and lines are together. I had it changed before it blew.
Its only something that will go while your on the road, change now so there will be no later. |
